Anna and colleagues from Hawken School recently presented two sessions at the Independent Schools of the Central States (ISACS) Annual conference in St. Louis. We shared one of our most popular fab lab activities, thinking routines, and learning springboards: Breakerspace. We also shared about the thematic learning we've introduced in K-5 Science classrooms over the past two years, when students became embedded in our Innovation Lab space.
Thanks to all who came out to our presentations and showed engagement across the Fab Play listserv and connected with our work! We look forward to seeing you at other professional presentations soon.
Supported by the Lorain County Community College's Early Learning Center and the Campana Center for Innovation, Anna helped create the 2 new curriculum modules geared just to early childhood learning (PS - 1st grade). Educators will be able to access the curriculum and check out a "train" from LCCC, stocked full of materials to complete the learning activities within the curriculum at their learning center, school, or home.
We just completed our first FREE training for Early Childhood Educators! Please fill in the "schedule a call" form if you'd like to be included in the next round of curriculum releases and PD.
Anna recently partnered with MICRO and Johnson & Johnson's Center for Healthworker Innovation to write and publish the Museum of Care Educator Guide. This 8-week, K-12 Curriculum brings together student investigations into healthcare fields, health worker perspectives, science, and fabrication elements. Students create a micro-museum to showcase their new understanding. The Educator Guide is available as a free download for schools everywhere.
